A story about "ketchup"

ketchup

by tomato on the road ;)

Ketchup really is just kind of salty and red-tasting. In my opinion, hot dogs and hamburgers taste wonderful without ketchup, if they’re made correctly. Fries too. However, badly made food with ketchup can someteims taste better if only because the taste of ketchup gives it some taste at all.

It’s not sugary enough to flavor the yogurt or light enough to ride on teh slightly sour taste. It’s just there, and when you eat it, you think to yourself, “Oh. Yogurt. And peach. Ah.” There’s no yum factor at all.

Which is why I’m tall. Maybe.

It’s healthy, full of calcium, and helps keep your bones non-brittle. I drink non-fat, because I’m so used to it that all other milk tastes weirdly sweet to me.

Good salads with lots of accessories (not the word, I know, but I’m tired) and a light but yummy dressing is good in any amount

It’s healthy and full of fiber and vitamins, but it also tastes good and sweet. You can eat it as a snack. It’s portable as trail mix. You can soak it in milk as cereal. You can even bake it into little snacks. I’ve done that, with honey, granola, and marshmallow, and they’re yum.

The crimes are interesting, realistic, and often have a surprise or two twisted in. But I watch the show for the characters, for the personalities and stories that you piece together after seeing these various characters for a whole season. It’s a great series if only to see the TV technique of different characters and one story per disconnected episode.

It’s dark and moody with harsh beats and sharp lyrics (ok, some of the lyrics suck, but most of them are good). It’s the best combination of New Wave homage and post-punk, with a bit of goth rock thrown in. The songs are catchy, and singalong-able. Most of them are good to listen to when in an angry mood, a motivated mood, or a depressed mood. Depressed as in down and calm and mellow, not as in cutting yourself.

Although I guess this CD would also work for that.

There were 3 of us in the car. We were a little tipsy, but not too much. We had just got back from a day of fun at the minigolf course and restaraunts and just goofing around together. It was late now. We drove around the hills near our town, up and down dark and familiar roads. And all the while, we blasted loud music, including much of this CD, and sang along very loudly and very off key. It was wonderful.

Oh yeah, and The Killers = amazing.

But even better, you get the bonus track of “Black Liner Run” which is one of my favorite SWR songs. I think it should’ve been on the album. The beginning drags on a bit long, but that’s something SWR does a lot—give you sequences of drum beats and bits that repeat for seemingly hours before getting to the actual song.

But it’s good. So listen to it!

I like the hard sound, the direct bite of the lyrics, how the emotions seem to flow from Trent’s mouth directly to your soul.

But this CD wasn’t really all that great. It was a little too produced for me, too mellowed and plasticized and fit for the mainstream. It was still good, but not amazing.

80 Gig iPod

by Apple

I love my iPod. There’s not much else to say except that it’s a great music and video player. The integration with iTunes is wonderful as well. The ubiquitous iPod is everywhere for a reason. I have thousands of songs on it, and I’m not even close to using up all the memory. People say that the battery life is a problem, but I’ve found that the fifteen minute quick recharges are good enough for an average day, and it’s not too hard to recharge it at night.

The only drawback, I’d say, is the easy-to-scratch surface. The little scratches are sometimes annoying when watching videos.

Other than that, kudos to Apple for finding their own niche!

A story about "43 Things"

43 Things

by The Robot Co-op

43Things is a great website. I love meeting new poeople and watching as others progress with their goals. I think it has helped me work on my goals and determine what they really are. The support network is great, and the invention of cheers was brilliant. I always learn something new from people at 43T because 43Ters have such diverse goals.
