A story about "Double Indemnity" — 4 years ago
I highly recommend this film for all the reasons dkp lists in her review. The dialogue alone will have you rewinding to catch every delectable rapid exchange.

I drank a large Diet Coke last night at the movies. I realized I have to stop drinking this shit … at least for a while.
If you know me well enough to eat or go to movies with me, please suggest a water or tea if you see me ordering a DC for the next 2 weeks. No need to hassle me but a little moral support would be appreciated. Thanks.
Because KEXP is such a great radio station. I plan to listen for life … provided they don’t stray too far. On second thought, provided they don’t stop straying.
If you buy the book you’re in for a treat. Not only a good, provactive read but a VERY nice hardcover binding. As a physical object this book is enjoyable to hold, handle and read.
I’ve listened to this album enough that I can safely say it’s had a nice little impact on my consciousness. I love it.
I love the soundtrack to Blad Runner. Vangelis rocked this one pretty hard.
I don’t love this album, but I love what it’s trying to do. I’m a synth lover but I had a difficult time getting into it. It took a roadtrip across the US and driving through the vast midwest listening to this before I was able to digest it.
Put it on in the background and see if it grows on you. It’s a bit of an intellectual excercise, but I think it’s a worthy effort. The song Tone Poem is one of my favs.
It’s a delicate balance of deep fried potatos, salt and truffle oil. Sometimes the folks at the Baguette Box get it perfect and it’s other worldly. Many times it’s darn good, but not great. Worth the $4 (the truffle oil adds $2 to the $2 standard french fries price) in case you luck out and hit the prefect balance.
It’s a lot to bite off—and is not always easy for me to listen to. But when the moons align, nothing hits the spot like The Refused. Which is probably why they broke up after this album.
