Enlightening as to how people are NOT logical by nature — 1 year ago

I found this book to be help me much more understand how and why people aren’t logical, than help me think more logically.

It goes over propositions, quantifiers, syllogisms, history of logic (I found this often useless), language fallacies and (very briefly) some logical fallacies. I’m now reading The Art of Deception and its first chapters complement this book; which means that yes, it’s an incomplete treatment of logic in ways major enough to be covered by one or two chapters from another book.

Why I recommend "Kiss the Girls" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Kiss the Girls is similar to Se7en, but that’s not why I recommend it.

I recommend Kiss the Girls for the excellent portrayal of the strong, independent woman – Dr. Kate McTiernan (Ashley Judd) – and her attitude: traumatized, yet refusing to be a victim, and joining the pursuit of her kidnapper.

Why I recommend "Seven (New Line Platinum Series)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Ernest Hemingway said, “The world is a fine place, and worth fighting for”. I agree with the second part.

Worst movie I've been dragged to — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I was attending an Xmas party and the host displayed this movie… I wanted to leave as soon as I saw the title (“Quest for the… Spear”??) but being a polite guest, I stayed. Biiiig mistake, and huge waste of time.

From the first shots, the movie looks lame. The acting is forced, the special effects are crappy (lots of scenes filmed against obvious blue screens), and the plot and dialog are childish.

I seriously do not recommend watching this movie, unless perhaps you’re a diehard fan of Indiana Jones.

A question I have about "Monty Python's Life Of Brian (The Immaculate Edition)" — 2 years ago

I find it very annoying that Allconsuming has dozens of versions of a particular movie. Who cares if I saw this movie in Widescreen, Fullscreen, 2-Disc Set, Collector’s Edition, or Blu-ray!?

Here is the most popular version of Life of Brian.
