A story about "Sins and Needles (Needlecraft Mysteries)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

After reading the last novel in this series, I was concerned that it was going down hill, but Sins and Needles managed to make me remember why I like Monica Ferris’ Needlecraft mysteries. Interesting small town dynamic and method of murder.

A story about "Embroidered Truths (Needlecraft Mysteries)" — 1 year ago

I didn’t think this was one of Monica Ferris’s better books in the series. I was happy to see Goddy finally get free of John though.

A story about "Clubbed to Death: A Dead-End Job Mystery" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This mystery series gets better with each book. At first I didn’t really care for Helen, the main character, but I liked how she was always taking new jobs, but as the series progresses and Helen’s character develops, I am becoming more fond of her.

A story about "Damsels in Distress (Claire Malloy Mysteries, No. 16)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Rarely do I get to the end of a mystery novel without knowing who the murderer is or at least having some inkling of whodunnit, but I can honestly say this one left me guessing. While a bit of the details about the ren faire were tedious, Hess definitely provided enough people with motive to keep me entertained.

A story about "You've Been Warned" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Definitely different than your run of the mill James Patterson book. It’s about a photographer coming to terms with having an affair with a married man. Well-paced.

A story about "T is for Trespass" — 1 year ago

I had difficulty with the first 250 pages or so of this mystery. I found them to be very dull, filled with minutia about private eye work, but once the story picked up, I felt it was a decent read. Interesting how slight changes in Sue Grafton’s style can keep the series fresh.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Normally Catherine Coulter writes fairly good no-brainer, romantic suspense, but the characters were totally wooden.

A story about "Don of the Dead: A Pepper Martin Mystery" — 1 year ago

I found this book to be slightly boring…the premise was so good, I just wish the writing was better.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love Earlene Fowler’s realistic settings and characters. When you pick up one of her books, you feel as though you are immersed in San Celina and Benni’s life. Worth reading!!

Why I gave up consuming "Death Qualified (Barbara Holloway Novels (Paperback))" — 1 year ago

I just could not get into this story.
