A story about "Brand Hijack: Marketing Without Marketing" — 2 years ago
So far this book is better than I thought. It’s actually got real “tools” to use, not just the same old Cluetrain “be human” hype.

cote / Cote'
is consuming 2 items,
doing 5 things,
going 0 places, and
meeting 0 people.
I'm currently reading 0 books, listening to 2 albums, watching 0 movies, eating and drinking 0 food items, and consuming 0 other things.
Cote' hasn't consumed anything recently.

I’ve really liked Graham Greene’s other books, but I couldn’t get into this one the way I did the others. I guess you can chaulk it up to not liking romance-oriented novels without a more “guy” plot to them.
I enjoyed the first Lean book from these authors, and this one added plenty of new materials. It does deliver on the title with some operational advice for implementing and selling lean into an orginization.
I was looking for a good overview of, as the title of the books says, the business of brands. That is, how brands are used in business. This book more than delivered on that.
It’s in academic business-tone, but that allows it to avoid any sort of marketing voodoo. I prefer to get that from The Godin ;)
I’ll probably read this a little bit at a time until I’m holed up somewhere with only this book. It’s just a collection of articles, so that’s about all you can do.
I liked the first half quite a bit, but even though the book is pretty short, I started to bog down towards the middle. It gets to be a bit repetitive.
Hopefully I’ll pick it back up sometime and finish it up.
Since it’s just a mechanical rehashing of past mission types, there’s not much going on except opening up islands. I didn’t actually finish this game cause it got to be a bit too repetitive.
That said, it was fun at first, and for $20, it was just fine.
This book is weirdly organized - it skips around time and chapters are only vaguely themed - but it’s chock full of fun info. It’s kind of like Maximum City in that regard.
Once again, a GTA to fill my free time. Unlike the first few times where I’d play all night, I just play this one for a few hours every other day or so. Once I start to feel overly tense, I finish whatever the current mission is and stop playing.
That said, I’m fixin’ to go play it right now ;)
A drug deal goes bad, and a post-hippie, drug-rot adventure ensues. It’s like a cross between the The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test and Pulp Fiction. Nearly perfect.
