From the famous stories of Aladdin to the story of Codadad and His Brothers, each story held me riveted throughout. I recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a short read each night or for anyone looking for good stories to read to their children.

A review of "Dreams of Iron and Steel: Seven Wonders of the Modern Age, from the Building of the London Sewers to the Panama Canal (P.S.)"

Dreams of Iron and Steel: Seven Wonders of the Modern Age, from the Building of the London Sewers to the Panama Canal (P.S.)

by Deborah Cadbury

This is an excellent well written book that takes you behind the creations of such engineering wonders as the Hoover Dam and the Transcontinental Railroad. Deborah Cadbury also brings into account some little regarded engineering feats such as the London Sewers and the Bell Rock Lighthouse. The book is well-written and easily understandable without a Ph.D. in Engineering. Cadbury reveals the mysteries, mistakes, and human cost of seven great engineering wonders of our world.
