A funny and sad coming of age story set during the Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia. Flawless, compact prose.
Strange and marvelous.
Excellent adaptation of the first Nestor Burma detective story by Léo Malet, set in Lyons and Paris during the German occupation. Quite a page-turner, with all you need from a detective story: murder, dames, pipe-smoking PIs, and a dinner party finale to unmask the villain!
I made it about halfway through this and had to put it down for one reason or another, and now I’m having trouble continuing it.
