Brilliant stories — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I LOVE these stories by Cortázar. Each one offers an odd yet oddly human look at life. A great collection of stories. My favorite stories are “La salud de los enfermos”, “Instrucciones para John Howell” and “Todos los fuegos el fuego”.

A review of "A Lexicon of Terror: Argentina and the Legacies of Torture (Oxford World's Classics)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is my favorite study of Argentina’s Dirty War. The author mixes straight facts with powerful testimonials that leave the reader with an engrossing portrayal of the horrific years of the military dictatorship. Highly recommended.

Why I recommend "Fortunata y Jacinta - Dos Historias de Casadas" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of the greatest stories I’ve ever read. It’s LONG, but so worth it! It’s a shame that the English translation is no longer available for non-Spanish speakers. More people need to read the works of Galdós. He’s Spain’s greatest writer, after Cervantes.

Why I recommend "Horizon" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Although this is a shorter Carpenter’s album, it is strikingly beautiful. Karen’s rendition of “Solitaire” and “Desperado” are magnificent. Her voice was at its very best on this record.

Why I recommend "Wicked (2003 Original Broadway Cast)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

No one can beat Kristen and Idina in “Wicked”. They are awesome!
