The book is fantastic. The movie is less than mediocre, uninspiring, and hard to understand. It could have been much, much better.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING
I watched this because it was the only movie on Entertainment Weekly’s “20 Scariest Movies of All Time.” Not only wasn’t it scary, it wasn’t even enjoyable. What a worthless piece of film.
