i just watched this again last night for the first time in a while. man, this movie is great. great sci-fi horror.

this is one of the LEAST cheesy movies i’ve seen john carpenter do (even with kurt russell in the lead role). the ‘thing’ is really creepy and the effects don’t look too dated. the whole dog scene really makes me cringe still.

definetly in my top 10 fave scary movies.

not what i was expecting at all, and i second the ‘almost a musical’ comment…

it wasn’t really frightening, and i was quite ready for the chris-teeyun to bite it…he was so annoying.

i’m not sure how a movie containing janeane garafalo (sp, i know), david hyde pierce, michael ian black, and michael showalter could be so impossibly stupid and un-entertaining.

so much better than the remake. the part where she goes to her friend’s house in the pouring rain…you know what i’m talking about…lol
