A story about "Absolutely Fabulous: Complete Series 4" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

After a long time between series, the fourth season gets off to a rocky start. It improves towards the end, but is still nowhere near the peaks f brilliance shown by the second season.

A story about "I Am Charlotte Simmons" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A novel about the desperation to fit in, and the sacrifices made in order to do. Surprisingly heartless in many scenes, which Wolfe’s previous books do not share. Still a good read, with an ending which normally would be ‘happy’, but is disturbingly sad.

A story about "Futurama, Vol. 4" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It is always sad when you get to the end of “Futurama”, a series which could have had the longevity of its older sibling “The Simpsons” but which was screwed over by Fox like so many other shows cancelled before their time.
This season contains the best episode of the series, and perhaps the best episode of any animated series. “Jurassic Bark” perfectly captures the special bond between a human and their companion animal, and i dare anybody not to be sniffing away tears by the time the credits roll.

A story about "Planet of Twilight (Star Wars.)" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Another EU story which starts promisingly but quickly disintegrates. The final scenes with the resolution between two characters is so out of the blue and absurd it is almost laughable.

A story about "Citizen Kane" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A film that truly deserves it’s hype, and comes with an excellent documentary and commentary as well.

A story about "Darksaber (Star Wars)" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

A disappointing entry to the EU, especially as it is from Anderson, whose Jedi Academy trilogy is among the best books. One thing holding it down is the tepid love affair between Luke and Callista, and the “been there, done that” plotline of yet ANOTHER death star (albeit only the laser) being built as a threat against the New Republic.

A story about "The Shadow of the Wind" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A modern Gothic romance, this is as much the story of a love affair between a man and a book as the twin love stories that run parallel within this novel. The mixing of genres and homages are affectionate, and the story genuinely gripping. A must read.

A story about "Children of the Jedi (Star Wars)" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Although the story behind the children of the jedi is intriguing, the subplot with Luke on the renegade ship is not. So once again we have a novel which can neither be recommended nor not recommended.

A story about "Prozac Nation: Young and Depressed in America : A Memoir" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

My thoughts on this book could be summed up thusly: “Oh, waaaaaa!!!!”
Really, so many other people have written much more empathetically about their battles with depression – and none of them sounded as self-obssessed and whiny as Elizabeth Wurtzel. She sounds more like she is in love with the idea of being depressed, and although she admits it herself it doesn’t do her cause any justice.

A story about "Champions of the Force (Star Wars: The Jedi Academy Trilogy, Vol. 3)" — 4 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

A worthy conclusion to the Jedi Academy trilogy – the actual backstory of the academy and the rebirth of a new generation of Jedi Knights is enticing. However, the survival of one character towards the end is a bit twee. Along with the Thrawn trilogy, these Anderson novels are the best of the Expanded Universe stories.
