WORTH CONSUMING!

My second-most favourite TV show of all time – the perfect pick me up for when you are blue, and can be rewatched over and over again. Can’t recommend it enough.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Frothy and silly, good for a laugh on a lazy Saturday afternoon. It is Janeane Garofalo as Heather Mooney who really makes the film worth watching.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

The final part of the Black Fleet trilogy draws to a close, and unfortunately is even worse than the two proceeding it. There are only slight glimmers amongst the dross, and the book is painful to get through. One of the worst entries in the Expanded Universe.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This film is a biting satire about the inability of people to accept difference. It is similar to Saved!, but exists more in a fantasy world not unlike that in Heathers – an almost comicbook hper-reality. Worth your time.

I was surprised by how well they adapted the mammoth book for a 2.5 hr movie. The only thing I really missed was the presence of Mrs Weasley, as it meant they cut out one of my favourite scenes of this story. But all in all, it was fantastic and on a par with POA.

A review of "Shield of Lies (Star Wars: The Black Fleet Crisis, Book 2)" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

Although better than the first book in the Black Fleet Crisis, there really isn’t much to recommend this story either. Although the events within it are more interesting, it just doesn’t feel like it fits in within the EU. The writing just seems off, like these are new characters entirely.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Classic sci-fi tale about first contact, which is just as timely today (if not more so). The brilliant sequence in which the alien extends the hand of friendship but is shot down by a soldier says so much about our society and the paranoia rampant within it.

Sheer bliss. The perfect soundtrack to a late night.

A story about "Before the Storm (Star Wars: The Black Fleet Crisis, Book 1)" — 4 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

One of the worst novels of the Expanded Universe. The characters seem off, particularly from the last set of books, the storyline is not that interesting and the whole thing is just a chore to get through.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A teen comedy with intelligence, this satire about fundamentalist Christians also manages to delve a little more deeply and make them well-rounded enough so that you care about them.
