*Awesome movie!* — 18 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I did not go in the theatre expecting to cry in the first twenty minutes of the movie, but I did! A lot of what the little old man goes through in his life actually mimics real life. Even up to the part where he doesn’t want to let go of his home. My favorite character was Kevin ~ he (ended up being a she actually) was hilarious! I like it when she pulls her crazy stunts and “caws” into the characters’ faces!

Why I recommend "Knowing" — 18 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

My Mom, Dad, and I rented this movie last night and watched it. It was good, though far-fetched. There would definitely be a good and a bad side to knowing what was going to happen, such as world disasters. Just like in the movie, though, some of them could not be prevented even if we were aware of them.

Why I recommend "Mad Girls in Love: A Novel" — 18 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book was hard to put down ~ the characters were so interesting. I also loved the book before this one, “Crazy Ladies”, which was also about Dorothy and Clancy Jane. It is about a typical, but not so typical, dysfunctional family in the South and their ups and downs. The ending left me happy ~ I was somewhat worried that Bitsy and her daughter Jennifer would not mend their relationship.

Why I recommend "Murphy's Boy" — 20 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Torey Hayden is an amazing teacher ~ I would love to meet her one day. Her books are riveting, and I just can’t put them down! I respect her for her work with children that have been through so much and have tremendous difficulties to overcome. She breaks down walls that have been built around children with selective mutism (her life’s work). I am truly amazed at her strength and drive to never, ever give up on any one child.

Why I recommend "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" — 24 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great movie!! Of course, the books are way better. And I enjoyed “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe” much more. But, I absolutely love all things Narnia…

Why I recommend "Dead Before Dark" — 26 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love all of Wendy Corsi Staub’s books – she always leaves me in suspense and I absolutely cannot put her books down! Sometimes I will literlally stay up all night just to finish one of them…

I wish so much that I had brought the other new book of hers with me to the beach ~ now I have to go without it for two days until I get back home :-( That’s what I get for reading so fast (finished “Dead Before Dark” in less than two days). I am usually a slower reader, taking my time to finish a book. With hers though, I basically tear into it.

When I saw her latest two books on the shelf at the book store, I know I must have audibly gasped. I felt like I snatched them up greedily, looking over my shoulder to make sure nobody was behind me ready to pounce on my find.

I’m terrible.

Why I recommend "Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants)" — 26 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I loved every one of the books in the Sisterhood series ~ and this one was no exception! It was awesome. I have become very attached to these girls, and to know that this was the final book and to read about them becoming adults brought tears to my eyes. Cheers for Ann Brashares!

:-)

Now I actually need to watch the movie…

Why I recommend "Slumdog Millionaire" — 29 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie gave me so much insight into life in the slums of Mumbai ~ I had no idea. It really socked me. The movie was quite different from the book, however. I absolutely loved the book, which I read before seeing the movie. The movie really gave me a visual picture of what it’s really like, though. The music was awesome, too. I really enjoyed it. I suggest reading the book and watching the movie both.
