Ooh – wasn’t expecting it to be THAT colour in the middle!! ;)

I wanted something that smelled like Avobath (or the lovely Avoshower, limited ed) but instead this smells like the flowery ‘green one’ out of a granny’s gift set. Meh.

Can you believe it’s been 16 years since this came out? Tom Cruise was a mere 34 years old, the Spice Girls were just telling us what they really, really wanted, and I was just starting uni… No wonder I had such a hard time remembering a thing about the movie, now over-shadowed and out-spectaculared by its three sequels.

It’s not aged awfully or brilliantly. So much of it has spawned cliche, too. But glad I got to refresh my (also aging!) memory!

Birthday card Nov 12

Edible, actually. That’s usually as much as you can ask for with such things! ;)

Birthday card (for my sister, as you can tell! ;)). Wanted to make the silver card look a little like metal – I’ve seen perfect embossing folders for that, but this was the closest I had to hand.

The third installment of the Kencyrath books sees Jame shoved into the half-hidden ’Woman’s World’, which is full of secrets and factions and veils. She does not fit in with the rules of quietness and obedience and all that – I was a little disappointed to see her trying. But things soon get a little more, ahem, action-packed!

Neither this nor the predecessor (Dark of the Moon) quite enthralled me as much as the first book, but still enjoyable.

The rating is for the colour rather than the quality of polish – it’s just as good as the rest in the range, and one coat was pretty good coverage. But that colour – it’s very… pink o_O Yeah, yeah – I knew that from the bottle, but it was still a shock to see something quite so barbie on my toes!!

I was in the mood for something light and fun, and this hit the spot. Cute rather than brilliant.

I was enjoying this right up to the ending, which felt rather weak. Before then, though, it was a nice mid-paced mystery that kept me intrigued if not wholly on the edge of my seat.
