A story about "The Beat" — 1 year ago
I am a sucker for marketing, and anything with Agyness Deyn. I think it will make me interesting.
I'm currently reading 23 books, listening to 0 albums, watching 10 movies, eating and drinking 1 food item, and consuming 5 other things.
I am a sucker for marketing, and anything with Agyness Deyn. I think it will make me interesting.
Too 70s. Their first album was soo fun and poppy and this is just full of retro bluesy guitar riffs which come across as neither inventive or current.
Maybe it will grow on me.
I am incredibly bipolar when it comes to Coldplay. I can not seem to figure out if I like them or hate them. I was listening to them pretty early when Parachutes came out and I seem to give every album they put out a chance though Chris Martin has gone from adorable frontman to a melodramatic twit.
Before this album came out I went and listened to their old stuff and again though I was swept up in moments of nostalgia and the distinct memories that go with these albums in my life, I was still annoyed by the meaningless smug nursery rhyme lyricism that I found prevalent and continuous and by the time XY came out made the dwindling feelings of appreciation disappear into something close to hate.
What I think, at least from the early listens to Viva La Vida… is the shitty lyrics of before have been quelled/ muffled and I actually find myself enjoying this album.
Maybe I just had such low expectations that the fact that the album isn’t half bad is a total and pleasant surprise. And I find the nice memories of coldplay coming back returning without having to put up with the drudgery of “You can sing a song that nobody has sung.”
Though this ridiculous military band look has got to stop. They should just play tunes and avoid the rest of the PR hoopla of trying to look like a new band.
Treasure is their knowledge (dramatic pause) Knowledge is their treasure.
Brutal.
Not as bad as I thought it would be. On par with the Bridget Jones Sequel.
I really dislike the Billy Walsh character. Less of him in the future please.
The first 20 minutes are a little rough but than when amy poehler comes into the film everything pulls together. Amy and Tina Fey are amazing together. And it’s nice to see various SNLers and a couple of conan writers in the mix with the other stellar cast.
Good flick.
Oh movie.
I don’t think I can write coherently about how I enjoyed this movie.
Firstly it has good old Russelll Brand in it, and I find myself close to him since I have been listening to his radio show for nearly 2 years. I heard all about the process of making this film and I am very familiarly with his vernacular and parlance. I almost wish he was completely new to me so I could have an unbiased opinion of his performance, but the idea of delving into his world brand spanking new just sounds exhausting.
On top of that there is a awesome cast of Judd’s favorites and than there is the women. Who are funny and have back story and, are not just sex objects or villains but emotional and hilarious and rad and hot.
And of course lastly Jason Segel’s junk.
Going into this movie I pretty much knew I would love it, and I was not disappointed however within that comes the feeling of missing something because there are no surprises.
I was just happy to see Russell doing so well and that it didn’t agitate me in anyway and I will definitely see it a few times.
annoying lady and stoopidly hot/ rad dudes.
too close to reality.
