A story about "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (Theatrical Release)" — 1 year ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This movie is super brutal, mostly because it has the trappings of something that could be fun and cute (great soundtrack, great city, Michael Cera, interesting and inventive plot) and than it just does not go anywhere.

Nothing is cohesive, and the only reason why anyone would keep watching is to see what completely random event will happen next, and how the characters will act completely out of character. There is disgusting puke jokes, though the drunk girl is quite good. There are some good lines 99 percent of the time delivered by Cera. But there are just so man inauthentic moments and holes in the script as if there was no more than one draft of it and than they just went with it

There is so much promise and so little delivery with this flick.

And it is really difficult to feel bad for Norah. And the exposition that her dad is a big shot is so annoyingly heavy handed. We get it.

I’m not mad I am just disappointed.

WORTH CONSUMING!

These guys are great. I saw them do a free show last week at The Horseshoe in Toronto and it was fantastic.

Laura Marling doing backing vocals on the album is also a big bonus. She is so rad. I am going to see her Saturday at The Rivoli. YAY!

I don’t really like cartoons but for some reason I love freakazoid. I think it’s the ridiculous Jerry Lewis-ness. Jerry Lewis I don’t really like but for some reason I really like impressions of him.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

This movie was like having a two hour sex talk with your parents.

It pretty much gave me an anxiety attack. I felt like I had aged.

Usually movies, no matter how cheesey, at least take me away some how, take me away from reality to interesting new place or point of view. This movie made me want run from the movie theatre.

This movie traumatized me like no movie has ever.

“What a twist!” some woman behind me said gleefully. God it was awful.

Stellan. Colin. Why?

WORTH CONSUMING!

Some pretty ridiculous/ hilarious moments, perfect for an action film. It doesn’t seem to take itself too seriously which makes it enjoyable.

It has a sort of Fight Club lite vibe to it, with the narration being the most obvious aspect of it. This comparison could be a good or bad thing, but it really doesn’t matter. The visuals are very nice, and there is a slight comic book aesthetic to it which I always enjoy.

James MacAvoy is so fantastic. I have been enjoying his work since Shameless and I am glad he is doing so well these days and gets to pick the roles he wants to do, acknowledging how ridiculous his choices are, but that he’s happy have the opportunity to make them.

Big Night.
