WORTH CONSUMING!

Wow…where does Lunchbox get his ideas? A guy decides to make a movie at his place of employment when the store is closed down for the night, then stays up the next day to work his shift slinging product to the jagoffs on the other side of the counter. That could never happen in real life…right.
Anyway, I’ve loved Smith from the beginning, and I knew I was going to love this movie as soon as I heard about it. How perfect is Rogen doing a Smith movie; it’s like a match made in dick and fart joke heaven. Once again, however, Kevin uses all that crass dialogue and behavior to get across a “nice” story…a love story at that. OK, so it ain’t From Here to Freakin’ Eternity. Thank God for that. I laugehed my ass off and just about squirted a tear or two as well. Smith rocks…you’ve come a long way baby. Can’t wait for RED STATE!!!

Why I recommend "A Prayer for Owen Meany" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is a must for those of us who struggle with their faith at times. John Irving is a brilliant storyteller who always has an awesome message to impart.

Frackin' TV — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Once again, a group of people have gotten together to prove me wrong in thinking that there isn’t a damn thing on television worth watching. This show is amazing…I am humbled…again. The writers have refused to follow the usual TV path of kinder, gentler stories with happy endings; they’ve written in some hard choices for the characters and some suprising moments. Well done.

A story about "Dexter - Complete First Season" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I keep trying to convince myself and my friends that television is the absoulute in mediocrity, but then somehting original and well done like Dexter comes along and I have to recant. Awesome show.

Why I recommend "Blaze: A Novel" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great read!!! Too bad about that “cancer of the psuedonym”, I’d really like to read more of “Bachman’s” novels.

Almost Legend — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I thought this movie was awesome right up until the end. I have to agree that the ending seemed forced. However, Will Smith’s performance was excellent; damn near nomination worthy really -maybe not worth the statue, but his performance was up there with Viggo’s in Eastern Promises (on second thought…maybe not, but still good). papertrix’s comments have most definitely made me want to read the book. Freakin’ Hollywood and their “happy” endings.

A story about "Twin Peaks - The Definitive Gold Box Edition (Seasons 1 & 2, Pilot)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was so bummed when the series ended. Wish there were more, but at least I can revisit with the Gold Box.

A story about "Mae Day: The Crumbling of a Documentary" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier’s film school project. Actually a documentary about why the first idea for their project didn’t happen. Funny and irreverant.

Why I recommend "Donnie Darko - The Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Aside from being a sweeeet movie, the director’s cut has a commentary track with Kevin Smith.

Why I recommend "Roadhouse (Deluxe Edition)" — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

OK…Roadhouse may be one of the 80’s cheesiest movies, but I have to admit, a guilty pleasure. Then Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier signed on to do a commentary track for the deluxe edition DVD. Freakin’ classic. A must have for Viewaskewniverse fans.
