He writes & sings songs that manage to make me happy and sad all at the same time. I also like the fact that he doesn’t just write endless love songs, although the ones he does are unusual and intelligent. ‘Wheel’ always makes me cry, I think it’s beautiful!

Alice Walker wrote a piece about Sweet Honey which I read sometime last year. Finally, about 2 months ago, I was able to get hold of this album and I found it intriguing. They’re a women’s vocal group who sing a cappella (normally fairly unforgiveable, I know!) with mainly African/gospel influences. It’s not necessarily something you’d listen to every day but I believe the world is definitely better for it’s existence.

I’ve been playing this almost daily ever since I bought it about 4 months ago. It’s become part of the rythym of my life and I think it’s a deeply satifying album. I think this might be their best so far…
