Monday Mourning: A Tempe Brennan Novel

Loved how it took place in Montreal. Ive never read any of these stories before so I enjoyed the fact that I could picture places that were being mentioned. Great plot twists, I barely put it down.

Zodiac

Another audiobook, I listened to the facts while driving from Washington to Southern California. I was completely clueless that the murders happened in Cali. and the murderer was never caught. If I had known this I probably would have chosen another book for my travels. Never-the-less I enjoyed listening to the facts.

I listened to this audiobook while I was working. The narrator had this creepy Anthony Hopkins sounding voice that really made the point of making the book sound thrilling. Will definitly be into reading/listening to Hannibal soon.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West (Musical Tie-in Edition)

I have to say the first time I read the book it took me a while. I mean the author chooses names and uses words not common to speaking today. But once I completed the story I had to read it again. Normally these types of books I drive immediately back to the library, but this time was different. I was challenged and the second time I felt as though I had really gotten the story. And I loved it!
Because everyone knows the story of Dorothy, it’s refreshing to see her and the Wicked Witch in a new light. It makes the story more visible, knowing how the Tinman got that way.

Also if you have a chance to see the Musical it is awsome!

So I am driving across the country.. no radio and sick of my cd’s. Well I figured I’d try this audiobook, I don’t really know why I purchased it in the first place but, why not?

This was the best driving buddy I could have had. I mean it was not soo in depth that I was loosing focus on the road, and it even had some light humor to it. This one worked for me during a loooong drive, but I think I would also have enjoyed reading it on the beach or even comfy living room chair.

Fight Club: A Novel

Even with the now “oh so popular” movie out that probably everyone has seen, I think the book should be read as a companion to the movie. The books are always better!
You really get an idea of how crazy he is, and how Tyler does what he does and why in the book. These questions are not answered adequately in the movie, but we’re all too busy looking at Ed Norton’s arms, (well hello there!) Anyway.. I also read the version of the book with a new indroduction by Chuck, and it was just as entertaining. And most times I would recommend these as just being filler to the story.

It’s a short read, so a good one for you you non-reader’s to start on! And for everyone else it’s just simply entertaining!

The Exorcism of Emily Rose - Unrated (Special Edition)

Not the best movie before bed, but a roomate borrowed my DVD binder and this was all I could find.

I liked how the story was told, during the trial through the voices of the witnesses. It made me feel that if I was actually following the actual trial what I may be thinking or picturing while hearing the detailed testimony.

A story not often heard and even less believed in. A story that may be believed to those with only having an open mind. Should be seen by all, just to scare you into having an open mind

This movies covers all emotions. And almost makes you think.. maybe when they say “love conquers all”... they werent kidding. I know it’s a completely over-the-top storyline, but the aspects of the relationship are so real. Also the chraracteristics of each character is so real.

I loved the movie, purchased it after seeing it only once.
Not something I do lightly!

Darcy's Story

I want to say first that Ayler did a good job re-telling the story. Complete respect was paid to Austen’s original. The story also answered and went into more detail on aspects that the Bennett family were not involved.
I don’t know what I was really expecting when picking put this book.. maybe that’s why I can only say the book was OK. I mean alot of the story was the same as the original, the same.

I dunno… I would recommend it to anyone loving Pride and Prejudice

I know it is hard to go into a Starbucks and purchase a coffee, and as an X-Starbucks employee, I know alot about all of the coffees. For anyone not interested in a black apron, this is the best. We introduced it last year and I was so happy to see it on the shelves this month.
This coffee is a medium blend and is extremely well balanced. There are no overpowering tastes. A good morning and desert coffee.

As someone who was born in the mid-eighties, I was really out of the loop as to Jackie’s life and influence to the public. This book told stories of her as a child up until her death, all of these stories were told from friends and family members, with a few quotes of her own.
This was my first biography book in a long time and I am soo happy I read it. For a person such as myself who really doesn’t know what to do in life, it’s really interesting to learn about someone who has done and seen so much. I really enjoyed this book, couldn’t put it down!

Chocolat

I of course did it backwards and read the book first, which was good but I think I’ll read it again and I may have a better understanding of it because I have seen the movie. And generally when it comes to books and movies the book usually prevails, but I think to fully enjoy this story both avenues must be explored.

Pride and Prejudice (Penguin Classics)

I loved this book, Ive read it twice and probaly will again. As much as it includes a love story I was more interested in the interactions between characters and even though this book was written so long ago alot of human characteristics remain. But it does also give a single girl hope in love and poses the question could it be the guy you already know?

Impressive spice, licorice and red berry aromas. This wine is perfectly balanced with silky tannins, accompanied by big, ripe fruit flavours.
By reading a desription like this why wouldn’t you give it a try.. I enjoyed this winem by itself and would definitly purchase again.
Best used after a hard day of work and beginning to unwind..
