Easy read, credible and true, nothing too incomprehendible although these cattle did indeed seem to be a tad timid.

I haven’t actually started yet, but came across the title during industry reading. I intend to put it up my list and have a good browse through it within the next 3 weeks.
This is the most detailed historic biography I’ve ever read. Margaret Wigley did an amazing job at her research both in New Zealand as well as in Australia.
I chose to read the book because I hoped to learn more about what is was like to farm in Cheviot district but unfortunately I never got there. I stopped irrregularly reading the book after 3 library renewals because I didn’t want to risk any further fines and lost enthusiasm about the contents.
Clearly though, Mr. Robinson was a man of ambitious vision, with an unequalled ability to make things happen for his time and age.
Quick easy read.
Chuck Norris writes how even he has sinned…
He writes about his inner strength which is something that I was curious about as he also claims to be a devouted follower of Jesus Christ.
But just on the last page he writes on how he plans to be there for his 50th wedding anniversary (108 years old):
“Because I believe I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
So I guess that clears him of any humanism teachings…
Although it states at the start of the book that permission is obtained for stating scripture from some New American Standard Bible, I cannot remember reading any scripture whatsoever…
As soil input prices are rapidly, alternative methods to increase plant production (pasture in particular) are very much on my agenda.
This book provides me with a wealth of references.
Although many refer to rice paddies and pot trials.

not really my type of book, although it was a biography, it was from before my times.
i did find some new tips on gold and other precious mineral exploration, and i was glad to read im not the only guy who loves his porridge.
