A story about "tylenol sinus congestion and pain daytime" — 9 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

These are great & they WORK. I hadn’t found anything that works this well since they took pseudephedrine HCI off the OTC market.

per caplet, they contain:

325 mg acetaminophen (pain reliever)
200 mg guaifenesin (expectorant, same as in Robitussin and Mucinex)
Phenylephrine HCI 5mg (nasal decongestant)

These take effect pretty quickly and do a good job of relieving sinus pain & pressure. Coughing becomes more productive (ecch) and you generally get to feeling better and STAY feeling better for a good 6 hours at least.

I’m not really sure what the ‘cool burst’ is all about, as the directions for use include swallowing the pills whole rather than letting them dissolve in your mouth, or whatever, but its’ kind of a nice touch.

A story about "Trecce dell'Orto" — 10 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This pasta is hand-made and colored (possibly flavored? but if so, very subtle) using natural ingredients such as spinach, tomato, and squid ink for the black pasta.

It cooks very quickly and it’s VERY important not to over-boil. You want this to be a little bit ‘al dente’. Toss with olive oil and garlic and it’s PERFECT. Yum yum!

Why I recommend "pepperwood grove Old Vine Zinfandel 2005" — 27 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Picked up a bottle of this & the Pepperwood Grove Shiraz (Syrah? one or the other) on a ‘2 for $10’ sale at the grocery store around Xmas time.

Last night, my sweetheart and I had a very nice supper—filet mignon steaks, green beans with butter and garlic salt and roasted yukon gold potatoes with olive oil, salt, and rosemary, and this wine.

The wine complimented the beef and the rosemary in the potatoes VERY well. It was not overy tannic or acidic, just right.

Very tasty & highly recommended.

I can’t wait to try the other bottle!

A story about "Haagen-Dazs Mayan Chocolate ice cream" — 31 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Yummy yummy.

I’m also on a kick where I am drinking hot chocolate with turmeric and cayenne pepper in it.

I wonder if Mayan Chocolate ice cream would be good with a sprinkle or two?

Hm.

How "Hershey Candy Corn Kisses" changed my life — 44 weeks ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

(OK, not really)

I saw these at Target last night among all the Halloween bling, and I got excited because I am the Queen of Impulse Buys, after all, and I brought them home. Neat wrapping, tricolored candy, smells like candy corn…but tastes like low quality white chocolate. I’m not the biggest white chocolate fan out there, anyway. The Housemates were not impressed, even the one who loves candy corn immoderately. So, I brought it to work this morning and put it in the break area by the microwaves.

Now, if this was any good, it’d be gone by now. But even the coworkers haven’t been too jazzed about this stuff.

I say the candy corn kisses are made of Fail.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I found these at the grocery store last night & I got them, plus the Spinach Artichoke bites, which are also yummy but I couldn’t find a picture of them online.

I had one of each for breakfast, cheddar broccoli & spinach artichoke. I thought I’d like the spinach artichoke more, but I really liked the cheddar flavor of the cheddar broccoli.

I am not a vegetarian, so the rest of my breakfast was 2 pieces of turkey bacon & a cinnamon vanilla yogurt.

Yum yum.

They had it at Dog Almighty, so I tried it — 1 year ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

It tasted like grass clippings.

Color me unimpressed.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Is He Mr. Right?: Everything You Need to Know Before You Commit" — 1 year ago

this book is pretty simple in concept, yet it goes on and on! why? there are apparently 5 main points to consider when deciding whether or not a guy is right for you, and they’re covered in the first 50 pages or so. The rest is filler. Entertaining & interesting filler at times, but still.

A story about "Women's Wicked Wit" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is a fun little book. I keep putting sticky notes on some of the quotes I like best.

“His mother should have thrown him away and kept the stork.” – Mae West

“The graveyards are full of women whose houses were so spotless you could eat off the floor. Remember the second wife always has a maid.” – Heloise Cruise

“My grandmother was a very tough woman. She buried three husbands. Two of them were just napping.” – Rita Rudner

Perhaps this would be less funny if I didn’t have a recent ex to be bitter over, but I love this book right now.

A story about "wheels and cheese" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

for some reason, this has been my comfort food lately. I got a bunch of boxes at the grocery store, and I add a little 3 oz can of tuna and that’s lunch. Every day. for the last week and a half or so. wierd, eh?
