A story about "The Hawk and the Dove Trilogy" — 5 years ago
This is a heart-searing book. My friend Jennifer recommended it to me, and though it took me a while to get into it, I’m glad I stuck with it. The last book in particular was very moving.

This book has been recommended to me so many times that I figured I’d better read it already. I’m trying to get past the horribly fluffy-looking cover. So far the story is tragic, but it is gripping and I’ll stick with it.
This is a great book. Everyone who has a digital camera and can therefore take even MORE bad photos should read this book.
Like “Redeeming Love,” this book has some parts that are almost unbearably difficult in their honest depictions of the evil of humanity. Also like that book, this book shines through all the brighter for it. It takes place over the course of many years, and this felt realistic because of the time required to develop and overcome great hatred. My favorite part is the interaction between Afton and Agnelet.
This was a great collection of short stories. I’ve been reading other books by some of the featured authors and loving them too.
I can’t guarantee I’ll read the whole thing but the concept is very interesting to me.
Recommended by my friend PenguinBoy. A very interesting read, with some great points. That said, I didn’t find the writing irresistable.
My first graphic novel ever. Foolishly, I didn’t realize it was just the beginning so now I’m going through withdrawals until the next couple come in for me at the library.
A well-written, well-illustrated book about the meaning of life. Actually kind of an interesting counterpoint to “The Purpose Driven Life,” which I’m also reading.
Like the rest of the series, this was a great book. There were parts, though, that were almost unreadable because of the injustices committed by some of the characters. Parts were heart-wrenching, and I wasn’t entirely satisfied with the ending because some of the relationships seem incredibly superficial if they can be damaged and mended so easily. Still, compelling, well-written historical fiction with an admirably heroine.
