This sucks! I HATE HATE HATE having anything up my nose, having water up my nose (one aspect of my aversion to swimming), and certainly spraying anything up my nose, much less something with salt, or grapefruit seed extract, or olive leaf, or anything else – YUCK YUCK OUCH YUCK YUCK GROOOOSSS!!!

But, my Grandmother used saltwater every night before bed and never had these problems, so I will do it…

Needed to grumble about it, though. Thanks, all.

Here, the storyline felt slower and a bit tedious. The effects were good – I quite enjoyed reading Bill Nighy’s facial expressions underneath his Davy Jones / Evil Undead Squid costume – and there were a couple of really good one-liners. Still looking forward to #3. I find that #2 in a trilogy often ends up being the one I least enjoy, anyway.

People have posted 80’s vidoes that I thought I would never again get to enjoy (there are probably still some VHS copies at my Dad’s house, but, like I said VHS). Here, people have brilliantly posted videos by The Jam and Style Council, Japan and Spandau Ballet and Heaven 17 and Blancmange and even Snakefinger and – well I could go on – and not only the vidoes that I remember from my local video show, but also performances from TOTP and so on. I’m looking forward to sussing out more, and then creating playlists…

I am in heaven!

Brooks

Meh. I like stories of “tragic”, unconsummated love (I believe everyone should have one such love in life), but there was so much about this film that bothered me. Tea Leonie’s character was too much a caricature for me, Adam Sandler’s character was not compelling for me, not fully realized, I felt, and the lead – ugh! She was portrayed as this strong, great mother who is raising her daughter so well, as only non-Anglos can, and I didn’t agree – at all!!! Her poor daughter would find herself needing therapy a few years down the road, and her mother would probably guilt her into not doing it for herself.
