Quite an interesting book. The reason I picked it up was that I saw it mentioned on many other webloggers’ reading lists, and the topic sounded interesting. While the subject matter pertains primarily to product design, and what should go into good product design, I found the information and suggestions useful for design of any kind. The writing was clean and conversational, and never really ventured into being too technical at all. Definitely a must-read for those working in IA and web/computer usability.

Certainly an interesting look into how Stephen King writes, and a little bit of biography on the author as well.

Wonderful with so many layers to it, I know that I’m missed so much on my first read. What turned me off the first time I tried to read it (the shifting time and flashbacks) wasn’t an issue this time, and I think only enhanced the novel.

A few great stories, a bunch of good ones, and a few stinkers.

Hyped by the Boing Boing folks, bought it for my brother, he loved it, and now I’m borrowing his copy.

Pretty good book, but I’m curious. Is the story “boy finds out he has wizardly powers, and then goes off to wizard school” a pretty common one? Seems JK Rowling made off quite well with that story idea, although this book was published 25 years before the Harry Potter books. Hmmm.

This books was so much better than I had anticipated. A wonderful, dense, charming, moving, funny, and inspiring novel.

I’m actually just re-reading Trout Fishing in America, but all three of the books in this collection are wonderful, whimsical stories and poems.

Indespensible advice.
