A story about "Fahrenheit 451" — 5 years ago

Audiobook-This year’s Hugo nominees included the best novel for 1953-a list that read like a Who’s Who of sci-fi classics. So, I’m listening to Farenheit 451 on tape during my commute around town. It’s just one of those books that gets more and more meaningful each time I read it.

A story about "Childhood's End" — 5 years ago

Clarke’s classic of alien invasion of the Earth. Nominated this year for a retro-Hugo for 1953. A definite page turner that I enjoyed a good deal. The ending was a bit of a let down, but otherwise an enjoyable book.

A story about "The Well of Lost Plots: A Thursday Next Novel" — 5 years ago

Third in the Thursday Next series and highly entertaining. I love how Fford takes elements from lots of other literature and pulls them all in here. A page-turning, enjoyable enough read and one that has me eager for the next book in the series to be out.

A story about "Singularity Sky" — 5 years ago

The first book in my quest to read all of this year’s nominees for the Hugo Award. I’ve not heard much about Stross or read anything by him before, so this should be a new and exciting experience.

A story about "The Faith of George W. Bush" — 5 years ago

A spiritual biography of our commander in chief. Interesting reading about our leader’s walk and his life. Highly recommended, esp. as we go to the polls in November.

A story about "Sick Puppy" — 5 years ago

The slightly insane story of an overzealous and very angry young man who care deeply for the environment and the insanity that happens when he witnesses a prominent lobbyist littering. Entertaining as all get out to read with some very absurd characters. Not deep on the mystery but you’re having so much fun you barely notice.

A story about "Blind Lake" — 5 years ago

An intriguing idea with some well realized characters. Good stuff by Wilson, but I’m not sure it’s Hugo worthy. I’ll let you know when I’ve read the others it’s up against.

A story about "The Pleasure of My Company: A Novel" — 5 years ago

An interesting novella about an extrmely nuerotic guy and how he copes with the world. Fascinting, entertaining, amusing, funny and touching all at the same time. A well developed character study by Steve Martin.

A story about "Unity (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)" — 5 years ago

Ties together some of the on-going plotlines of the first couple DS9 relaunch books and then keeps them spinning in new directions. Shows why the DS9 relaunch is the 2nd best thing happening in Trek fiction right now (just behind Peter David’s brilliant New Frontier series)

A story about "Shadowmancer" — 5 years ago

An uninspired for 100 or so pages complete with cliched characters and sitatutions failed to capture my interest in this novel.
