How "The Truman Show (Special Collector's Edition)" changed my life — 1 year ago
I think I may have fallen in love with Jim Carrey after watching this movie. I hated Jim Carrey, damn it.

I’ve seen this movie many times on cable before, but I never got to watch it all the way through, so I have no idea exactly what the film is all about-save for that song “Scotty Doesn’t Know”. I thought that the college jock-type dude singing this song was a mere extra on the movie-well maybe someone who’s had this one shot at Hollywood fame via this movie and then never to be heard from again.
It was only much later, after reading about the Kimmel/Affleck thing and clicking through the related links, when I realized that the guy singing is, in fact, Matt Damon.
Like, whoa! How could I have missed this! In fact, I still had no idea it was Matt Damon until about a minute into this clip. Well color me duh!
I hated it. Fsck fsck fscking hated it.
Okay, so I enjoyed watching about 90% of the movie, and it did keep me on the edge of my seat throughout most of it…but the twist at the end? It made me literally shout, “What. The. HELL?!” I’m sorry, but I’m not fond of movies with such a crappy ending. bleh.
“Let’s kill these hours and fill desire.” (Neverlost)
I liked it—this is coming from someone who isn’t a big fan of teen movies. A lot of the dialogue, Amanda Bynes’ quirkiness, and Channing Tatum’s adorable goofball-in-a-jock’s-body personality made me laugh out loud. I couldn’t get enough of the scene where [spoiler] he had to jump onto the bed with Amanda and scream like a girl as a tarantula crawled across the floor. Even the “Do you like cheese?” part made me snicker (although towards the end I thought it turned a little…uh…cheesier). It’s one of the few teen flicks I’ve seen that I enjoyed a lot. :)
Some of the scenes made me cry. Damn I’m such a wuss. :-p
(and whoa does Steve Carell look HOT in this film!)

There’s a little scene near the end of the movie, when everybody was kissing everybody else, that bothered me so: one of the popular girls - I can’t remember which one, but it wasn’t Jessica Alba - slapped James Franco just as he was about to kiss her.
My question is this: who in her right mind would actually do that? It’s James Franco, fercrissakes! Oh, the hotness!
(fangirl. sorry.) :)
I love it (although I think it’s not as good as The Used’s first album). I have “Wake the Dead” on repeat in my music player :)
