A story about "How the Mind Works" — 1 year ago

After the first chapter or so I start skipping around. I’m sure there is a lot of good stuff to glean from this book, but certain parts of it don’t interest me or are too scientific for me to understand. Also, Pinker is writing from a strong atheist p.o.v., which really get in the way (for me) because he’s so blatant about it. I’ll probably end up consuming about half of the book.

WORTH CONSUMING!

One of the best books in the Western canon. See what happens when society becomes a police state.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is the first issue of Women’s Health that I have ever read, and I have to say that so far WH is the best women’s magazine out there. So much better than the cheesy, trite, recycled articles in Cosmo, Self, Allure and the like.

WH helped me to find 43things.com, and in only 3 days that site has helped me tremendously in focusing on my goals.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Great book, like Gladwell’s “The Tipping Point”. The best word to describe it is “Accessible”. He makes his points easy to understand, and you always learn something interesting. This book would seem simplistic to anyone who is already learned in the fields he discusses, but it is excellent for the average person. He gets a little repetitive at times, and makes far-reaching connections, but altogether worth the read, and you can just breeze right through it.
