Excellent programs for the desktop publsiher in us all.

Though D.M.C has been surpassed musically and artistically by many other rappers, it’s good to go back and hear part of the roots of hip-hop. Now that I’ve getting more into rap, I can appreciate them in a different way.

I’m not a Nicole Kidman fan, and I don’t particularly like films were the White characters are redeemers of what is wrong with Africa. But I did like the narrative and editing of the film. Lots of good foreshadowing.

Watched it again for about the 5th time. Without doubt the best political documentary ever. Right beside Spike Lee’s Four Little Girls on my DVD shelf.

Another good reference book that use as I build my rap music collection. The author not only gives background about the artists but also dares to critique them. The writing is pretty good.

Haven’t gotten through all of it. Been stuck listening to “Umi Says”. Like the jazz focus on this cut.

As I build my rap collection and listen deeply to the music, this a very good reference book for background about the artists.

Haven’t listened to the entire CD, but I’ve been listening to a lot of Nas lately.

Though I don’t read fiction like I used to, reading this book has motivated to try the novel writing challenge this Nov.
