Why I recommend "Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants)"

Forever in Blue: The Fourth Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants)

by Ann Brashares

ahhhh. just finished it. there was less drama going on in this one, or maybe i’d just become desensitized to it from the previous 3 books. as a freshman in college, i could totally relate to a lot of situations in this one, and i’m not one to say that i relate to a fictional character often or at all. i wish it hadn’t ended but i suppose it’s better this way. :\ sheesh. i wish i had a sisterhood of traveling pants.

A story about "Naked"

Naked

by David Sedaris

for some reason i never find david sedaris to be as “laugh out loud funny” as i’m led to believe.. sure, there are a few moments that make me chuckle, but mostly i just feel awkward reading about his weird childhood and acquaintances. it’s still entertaining though.

A story about "The Second Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants)"

The Second Summer of the Sisterhood (Sisterhood of Traveling Pants)

by Ann Brashares

i actually liked this one better than the first. but that could be because i was comparing the first to the movie as i read it…anyway. this one actually had quite a few laugh out loud parts for me anyway and plenty of “oh no they didn’t” moments. i’m not saying it’s like a masterpiece of fine literature, but it’s very entertaining. now to order the third one. (i don’t have quite the courage to be the male college student that goes to the young adult section for the third sisterhood of the traveling pants book.)

I mostly wandered around thinking it was creepy and gross. Especially all of their skin-less toes; they were all skinny and knobby. Ew. Some cool stuff in the gift shop for this though.

Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Howards End (Dover Thrift Editions)"

Howards End (Dover Thrift Editions)

by E. M. Forster

I feel so bad for starting this for class last semester, liking it, but still not finishing it… Well, one day..

Why I recommend "The Catcher in the Rye"

The Catcher in the Rye

I like this book not because I relate to Holden, although really most people can remember some brief period in their younger days when they were like him. Everyone assumes that to like this book you should like the main character, but the point is totally to not be like him. He’s cynical, inert, and definitely immature; he is like a side of me that I could easily let loose, but to push him aside is more rewarding, which I think is a main point here. I’m not quite sure if I’m making sense but I think that’s why I like it maybe? Plus it’s a fairly gentle read and it has its funny moments…

A review of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest"

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest

by Gore Verbinski

Just got back from this…the first half was interesting; but the second half was basically lots of action scenes. Overall I think it was good, but not really good enough to be as long as it was. I didn’t completely waste my time, but I can definitely think of better ways to spend it. Really, it seems like some chunks could be removed without affecting the plot at all…(cough cannibals)

On a less seriously critical note, why were there so few known pirate accessories? I don’t remember even one eye patch, peg leg, or hook. But I could just be too tired to remember them.
