What the hell? (rated 2 stars)

Bloodrayne (Unrated Director's Cut)(DVD ROM game is included)

by Uwe Boll

I have no idea why, but I was a huge fan of the video game…dark, interesting action and while plain in some people’s books I was diggin’ it.

The movie felt like an attempt to make the goriest film ever…using effects from 1980. So it reminded me of Monty Python’s quest for the Holy Grail battle of the Black Knight scene, without the humor. The acting was sub-par by everyone and the only reason I would recommend the film to someone is if they wanted to see what the lead actress looked like with her top off for all of 2 minutes (which happens in a scene that makes almost no sense, but why should I complain?).

I want my $4 back.

It’s either every family or every drama/comedy family movie that has a lot of the story from this film. Tons of laughs, almost a few tears and even some wincing that will make you say “I can’t believe she said that!!” Twists in plot, interesting family dynamic and great facial expressions make it a movie worth watching.

One word of caution: when your done watching it, you might feel like calling home. :)

Interesting enough, a friend of mine had it on her shelf…when I asked about it she offered to let me borrow it. Now let’s see what the hype is about ;)

It’s an easy read, the story moves just quick enough and on more than one occasion I have found myself wanting to look a few pages ahead to get the answer to Alex’s questions.

Looking forward to finishing it this weekend ;)

A review of "Start Your Own Self-Publishing Business (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Up)"

Start Your Own Self-Publishing Business (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Up)

by Entrepreneur Press

Great starter book full of resources in the appendix. I found a lot of the information helpful in answering my general questions and giving an insight into what it takes to start up a publishing company. While it would be nice if it went in-depth on some topics -I think I enjoyed it more because it didn’t.

If you are looking to write a book and/or try to publish it yourself, you ought to take a look at this book. Once you have read it you might find that you no longer want to publish yourself, or if you are looking for a publisher you might find that you would rather self-publish.

The chapters are quick, easy to read and the perfect length to read, digest and read the next. There are many other books you ought to read after this one if you decide to go forward and self-publish; but again I must mention that it’s a wonderful place to start.

While you get all the information in the end…I was distracted thinking I missed something because I had no idea what was going on.

If you can make it through the beginning, it’s a decent movie.
