I love this game! — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m soooo glad I got this game when I did, because it’s nearly impossible to find now! I tried to get one for my niece for Xmas last year, but couldn’t find a copy anywhere.

I’ve been known to lay in bed for hours at night when I can’t sleep and play this game. It’s surprisingly cathartic.

Must catch all the animals….....

I got this a while ago, but haven’t played it yet.

I got stuck! — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really really liked this game, but I got totally stuck on one stage, and not even GameFaqs helped me!! I can’t figure out how to get past it…. ;_;

Fun! — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This game was really fun – although it’s really hard to have the diligence to pick it up every day and make the most out of its quizzes. After I got sick of doing that, all I really used the game for was Sudoku.

I hadn’t ever played Sudoku before, so I guess I can credit Brain Age for getting me into it!

I liked it for a while. — 2 years ago

I played this game for a couple weeks, but quickly tired of it. Unless there’s some kind of minigame or something to keep me coming back for more, I usually will only play a game for a few weeks and then get tired of it. (and the dog training thingies don’t count as minigames for me…)

It’s a cute game, but replay value is super low in my book. Haven’t played it for over a year.

Kind of like Brain Age. — 2 years ago

This game is kind of like Brain Age, in that its goal is to give your brain a workout. I forget exactly what activities are all on there, but I did play it for a bit after I got it. It’s just various quizzes and activities to help loosen your brain up. Only advanced learners of Japanese would be able to benefit from this, in my opinion.

Completely obsolete because of the new DS dictionary. — 2 years ago

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I was really excited for this DS J->E, E->J dictionary to come out, because it is the closest thing I would have to an electronic dictionary. However, I was super disappointed when I received my copy in the mail, started to translate something and realized there WAS NO KANJI RECOGNITION!!! You can’t look up kanji on this piece of crap!!

Luckily, Nintendo or whoever realized this flaw and made the Kanji sonomama version. Therefore, this game is made completely obsolete. What a waste of money!

A story about "聖剣伝説: Heroes of Mana (JP)" — 2 years ago

I have this ordered but haven’t received it yet. Bought it on sale for $19.90 at play-asia.com. What a great deal for a Japanese DS game!!

The Japanese version of Animal Crossing: Wild World — 2 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

It was really fun for me to play the Japanese version of Animal Crossing: Wild World. A lot of the names are different in the original, and it was good for vocabulary building. The Japanese is fairly basic, so I’d say intermediate learners of Japanese could probably play this with little problems.

The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 star rating is because once I got the English version, I didn’t play the JP version anymore, and now I’m afraid to go back to my town because it’s just too sad! ;_;

Interesting concept, kind of boring after a while. — 2 years ago

I was really excited to get this game because it’s basically just a coloring book on the DS for adults. There are lots of different types of textured “paper” to choose from, but not very many pictures to choose from, which is why it gets boring after a while. You can “paint” in watercolor, oil, or colored pencil. The main picture that was advertised to be in the game, that really famous Japanese woodblock print of the big blue wave, wasn’t even in the game!

If you’re totally bored and feel like coloring, I guess it’s fun.
