Again, required reading for a course I took. Rather good.
A good introduction to a rather boring subject. Very readable.
Rather good. Required reading for a course.
Did not make a lasting impression but I think it I found it useful when I read it.
This book was not the quick start an impatient, non-technical n00b needed. ;-) Now that I’ve actually started using Emacs a bit I might get more out of it. But now it’s back in the library. I might check out the new edition (0596006489 ).
I just wish I had more time to actually use this book and learn something. ;-)
Anyway, it contains good transcriptions of SRV classics. Go buy it!
I’ve read chapter 7 (course requirement) and I found it very interesting. Hope to read the whole book some day.
I’ve read the introduction and it seems interesting. No time for the rest right now. Free PDF chapters from http://www.tfisher.org/PTK.htm
I’m reading texts from this for my English lit. course now and then. Obviously you never quite finish this book . . .
Required reading for my computer ethics course. So far, it seems rather good. I read the chapter on privacy one evening and when I read my usual selection of blogs and news sites in the morning I realised that this book is really about the things I usually think about. I think I would recommend it. Especially if you do not already think about these things.
