WORTH CONSUMING!

I never before realized that Jared Leto looks like Viggo Mortensen’s little hairy sister.

A question I have about "The Fall (The Seventh Tower, Book 1)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

so, what makes a book be “juvenile” instead of young adult? age cutoff at 14? (his young adult series I just read has a 14 yr old main character.) page count? (though it appears the page count on this has only been reduced by splitting it into 3 books so it can be called a trilogy.. )

this is the kinda stuff I wonder about.

The single thing that really makes this movie work is that the actors are all completely convincing in their total love for cars.

If you are here for the story, go on back home. The car stuff is fun though, and that’s what it’s all about. But now I have the urge to watch Gone in 60 Seconds, to see a good car movie.

But, hey – it had Vin Diesel and fast cars. So I’m a little embarrassed to like it, but that doesn’t make it not so.

Why I recommend "The Knocker on Death's Door" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

The gotcha totally got me. I wasn’t expecting it, but it wasn’t the cheap shot where you know he wrote into a corner and threw something out. It was really nicely set up. Worked brilliantly.

It is a well written little mystery, which was EXACTLY what I was looking for.

It probably says something about the clothing industry that the concept of pants that make you look good is considered magical.

But seriously, great story, wonderful characters. Not too perfect, nice mix of people and problems. Total tearjerker at times, but it earned it. Sweet story, and I will be reading the next one.

Since I’ve read Anansi Boys recently, it’s painfully clear, how very very very similar the two of these are. Really, Anansi Boys was just this plot, but with the lack of backbone that characterized Neverwhere. I think I’m done with Gaiman now. It seems like he has one story to tell, and he’s just telling it over and over, with occasional different perks and characters.
