A story about "To Kill a Mockingbird" — 2 years ago
Like many kids, I was forced to read this in school and I hated it. I don’t think I actually read more than a couple of pages of the book, I just hated being made to read anything I didn’t want to. For years I avoided it and ignored anyone who urged me to read it, but eventually I gave in and I’m so glad I did. This is quite possibly the best book I have ever read and continues to be my personal favourite. So anyone who hated it really should give it another try!
I thought maybe I should go back and read other books I hated at school and have realised I was clearly an idiot. Both ‘Brave New World’ and ‘1984’ have also moved from hated to loved and now I’m trying hard to remember the other titles I was supposed to read. However, I must admit that ‘Pride and Prejudice’ was just as painful the second time round…sorry!
