Great issue- the best articles were Black Girl Interrupted and the one dissecting guilty pleasures.

This is an intimate study on Islam and gender, and it also helps one understand a bit more about Wahabbism in Africa, too, which is important to know.

This seems less dry than many of the other sources for my report on Muslim women in Africa, and also, I need something for my book report.

I love the simplicity of the story- you can really feel the rhythm of life, every day life, coming through the pages.

I love this! It’s so uplifting, and cheers me up whenever I listen to it.

A childhood classic.

This book has a beautiful prose style, but I wish I didn’t have a copy with the notes of a freshman in it..

This is such a great book. It’s dark and depressing, but Attaway’s prose is so beautiful that it’s like hell sung about by angels. Or something. It’s good anyway.
