The best book ever! Ok, I say this about every 3rd book I read. But I really enjoyed it. It was hard to read at times because of the nonstandard English, but the story was enticing, amazing and not your average space opera. I gladly am taking the fine for this.

Best book ever! You should read the book instead of the movie because it has good bits about colonialism and lesbianism in there. Also Celie could read, and she did go to school til she got pulled out, so I could see her writing.

I have no clue why vegan girl was the butt of ‘slut’ jokes. John Tucker had been screwing the whole school, where are the jokes at his expense? Overall an amusing romp, except for some sexism and some bad afterschool specialitis at the end.

It’s not a movie for the ages, but I would see it again. Also, I think a good music video could be made with clips from this movie and the song Crown of Love by Arcade Fire. I also like that there was an aimee mann song in this film.

This book tells a different story from the movie,and is more interesting in some points, but they still are good stories to tell.
