It took two attempts to get through this film. I just couldn’t get into it. It was dull. I hardly did a chuckle. I couldn’t stand the characters. I was rooting for the sheep’s. The real gore didn’t happened until an hour into the film, and that didn’t even last long. I don’t call gore when you just see a bunch of bodies parts laying around, and sheep’s are eating it.

The good of the film was the sheep’s, they were done well, and the effects that they had were good. The independent horror movie industry from New Zealand needs to stop thinking that they are going to be the next Peter Jackson, and start getting original. Yeah, the concept was but everything else was cut short.

They focused more on the Spanish Civil War than anything else. It wasn’t enough character development with the little girl. They should have used her character to really explore the fantasy realm of the Pan’s Labyrinth. Make her character lost within that realm. Which I really felt they failed to do in the film. She had to do two tasks, and that was it…well, the end with the baby. To me that isn’t fantasy just about a girl with mental problems.

I know the whole movie was about this little girl trying to escape her harsh life, and to make up an imaginary world so she can be happy but I just didn’t care. I had no emotion for it especially towards her in the end. I was like well, she got what she wished for. I was more interested in the war, and to see what the captain was gonna do next. It had the potential of being a very great fantasy film if they would have stuck in that direction.

She is remarried but all she can do is think of his her ex-husband until he returns from the grave.

My first book I have read from this author. I think I would have liked it more if the writing style was different. It didn’t flow for my taste. I give it about 3 stars out 5.

If someone never seen something like this before, I could understand their excitement. The first half of the movie was a total bore. The second half took quite some effort to stay awake. The gore in this film was poorly done just like the script. Come on that eye scene? Sad! Why did Quentin Taratino want any part of this???? I would be ashamed to slap my name on this film.

What makes them ticks, and act the way they do. Dahmer is one I love studying but this film was not supposed to be made. Its more like why was this movie made. The script was not accurate to his life events. Is it supposed to be soft gay porn? If you want to see a good Dahmer film, I suggest “Jeffrey Dahmer – The Secret Life” if you can still find it. Alternatively, just read about him. Just stay away from this movie unless you like soft gay porn have fun.

The only torture in this movie was having to watch it!!!!!

Hostel..What a joke! (rated 1 star)

Hostel

This movie is for people who really have no clue about this genre of film.

The Dark (2005)

by John Fawcett

Surprisingly this movie was good since am not really into supernatural horror. They all seem redundant. I read so many bad reviews I thought to myself let see how bad this movie is…Upon re-reading people reviews after the movie, and such, damn there are some idiots out there. It seems that no one can think of there own conclusions. That is what I read in most reviews. Comments like “I am confused” “I don’t understand”. Its seems that everything needs to be explained to people. Come on think alittle. Based on a novel Simon Maginn’s wrote called Sheep. I never read it so I am curios how close the film is to the book. I bet it will be an interesting read. This film is probably not for everyone as I have read. It might just be that I love bad films. Nevertheless, I feel it is worth the watch.

edit:
I found Simon Maginn’s The Sheep the end of last year 2006. I didn’t pay no 100 plus dollars for this book either. That was the minimum. I have seen it for all the way 157 dollars. Thank you Paperbackswap! I finally got it. Now I need to read it.
