I enjoy movies, but for musical productions especially I prefer the stage versions. “Hair” is a must see American chronicle—it focuses on hippie and beatnik culture, the storyline reflects images of America that truly have created the foundational paradox of our current cultural vista.

If you cannot see a stage version, then by all means catch a copy of the flick. I saw it onstage as a young adult and I still remember the goosebumps the production inspired—along with the pure grief and angst.

“Hair”, as an psychologically influencing production inadvertantly given to me at a young age, drove me away from a staunch conservative political base intellectually and probably has influenced my social and political philosophy more greatly than any other media production. To the chagrin of my elephant loving parents, I developed sympathy for the mule as a result of this performance piece.

A MUST SEE, truly, for any social or political inspired lover of philosophy, ethics, or history.

We catch Monk any time we can… its nice to snuggle up on the couch and watch… and the kids can watch with the family. Great Detective series—

Tony award winner Tony Shalhoub is hysterical in anything he does, consistently. If you are a fan of his, then this off-beat show will not dissappoint you.

“My Blue Heaven” is classic. We have seen it so many times we are starting to know the lines. Very funny tounge in cheek—Steve Martin at his finest.

I will be so glad when summer is over and the waters get cold again only for one reason—oysters are best during months that contain the letter “R”. On the half shell, really cold, fresh sliders with cocktail sauce, lemon, and horseradish: every passing of the summer season is sad; “Oyster Season” gives us time to pause together as friends, family, and lovers and certainly reason enough to celebrate.

I am careful to only eat this fish on occasion—not that I do not love it but rather because I know there is a tendency for it to be overfished. It is probably one of my favorites, however.

Delicate but substantial texture, holds up well for grilling. Mild flavor yet complex: carresses the palate, appeases the senses.

Raspberries, fresh, are delightful and I eat them whenever I can. The new rages, however, are flash frozen raspberries dropped into fresh squeezed lemonade (making “freckled lemonade”) or freeze dried raspberries (which make a great crunchy snack or salad addition). Fashion your own rasberry vinagrette and treat a spring and spinach mix salad to toppings of fresh raspberries, walnuts, and Gorgonzola with a scatter of cracked peppercorn and you have yourself a sensational way to stroke your tastebuds. Blue Raspberry Slushies are pretty great, too, but I am not sure they fall into the same category. ;-)
