Why it's taking me forever to finish consuming "Dude, Where's My Car?" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Truly one of the best “B” movies in cinematic history. “Dude, Where’s My Car?” taglines are legendary.

Buy it, watch it, memorize it. “And then?”

Gentle humor, comedic natured: Lather, rinse and repeat endlessly.

A story about the last time I consumed "Chopin Luxury Cosmopolitan" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Perfect to have just one during the course of a long evening or to share with a friend… this is a delightfully fun and refreshing martini to serve as an alternate at a cocktail gathering.

Chopin Luxury Cosmopolitan
Shake 1-1/2 oz. Chopin Vodka, 1/4 oz. Grand Marnier and a splash of cranberry juice with ice. Strain into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

The color of these resembles a “blushed ruby”—I think we’ll serve these the most during Winter Holiday party… garnish could be varied.

MUST SEE--IMPERATIVE — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Everyone in America needs to see this film, absolutely. Repeatedly.

Key Point: Our school systems need to wise up and start preparing healthy foods for the kiddies, too—how many kids rely on school breakfast, lunch, and snack as their first line of nutrition?

You are what you eat.

A question I have about "Cruel Intentions" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

WHY DOES NOBODY EVER MENTION THIS MOVIE!!! I love this film. Brilliant, sexy, seductive, totally over the edge-all while masquerading as a teen angst flick. UTTERLY DARK WHILE FINISHING LIGHT AND DELICIOUS… and a kickin’ soundtrack to boot! Each time we watch this film noire it just gets better and better. Ethics, morals, karmic twists and turns to the plot, social issues, all of it-and true LOVE-(sex-did I mention SEX?). Gellar at her career best. YUM. Witherspoon demure but finishes strong where she belongs! Great A+ late night after-party film for quiet with the lights down…

Grill Specialty — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Make a side of Au Jus. Always better cold the second day, grill plenty and serve leftovers as open faced sandwiches with a creamy horseradish sauce. Easy grill meal for a crowd. Wafer thin bias cut leaves guests always clamouring for more.

1950's Popular Delicacy — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Swordfish steaks are okay—the meat is firm but a little bland and tends to dry easily. If you grill it with the right combinations of veggies (or maybe add a little mango salsa with some julianned squash) it seems to improve the overall flavors. It is very simplistic, actually (as far as cooked fish goes).

A story about "Drifters" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

“The Drifters” by James Michener was one of my favorite novels when I was a child. Not at all a novel for kids, I think I must have read it seven or eight times by the time I was 9 [Michener was one of my favorite writers]. The book was challenging intellectually and emotionally; I had to have my dictionary with me, but the story was so compelling in this oddly quiet way… I am ordering a copy of this book right now for our teenage son (who is beginning to study cultural connections of American social movements as they relate to global society). It will be interesting to see what he takes away from it and is able to “carry with him”.

A story about "The King and I" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Truly great thespians are few and far between. When I was a little girl, I had the incredibly fortunate pleasure to be able to see the stage production version of the “King and I” with Yul Brynner—and I absolutely fell in love with him.

This affection for the character played by Yul was not just a girlie crush—my partner as a child was influenced by the King character with regard to ideal visions of being a man, too. When you combine the visual and intellectual plethora of concepts presented by this drama, you have a virtual feast for the nourishment of the mind and soul.

There is no man on the planet alive sexier than Yul playing the King of Siam… and certainly, the character still has earned my lifelong crush. Reflecting now, I can see where Anna’s character has broadened my perspective on multiculturalism, teaching, social and emotional education, and the overall storyline totally expanded my visions of political ethics!

One must see this classic tale (even if it can only be in a movie). Besides, the music is fabulous—and my family laughs back and forth and quotes the lines (and we all cry together at the appropriate moments when its playing, too). This may be a simple, fun and funny little history-based musical, but bring a tissue or two.

RIP Yul—and for your incredible stage presence and gifts to the world, thank you.

A story about "Jaws (30th Anniversary Edition)" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I used to read Peter Benchley as a child—if you like the movie and think it is scary, the book is equally or moreso terrifying! CULT CLASSIC FLICK!
