Thank you, Allen! ♥ I am taking this book in bits and almost using it like a reference book.

A story about "Alfred Hitchcock Presents Stories Not for the Nervous" — 6 years ago

Actually reading ‘More Stories Not For the Nervous’ but that got no results so… close enough.

This is a re-read. I loved it when I was 13 or so. Still do. Classy creepy. Suspense without sex. Etc.

A story about "Art & Lies" — 6 years ago

Bought it per Molly’s recommendation, read it in one sitting. I read The Powerbook a few years ago, my impressions remain the same… Winterson is peerless, smart, poetic, thoughtful, and brave.

A story about "Quicksilver (The Baroque Cycle, Vol. 1)" — 6 years ago

I liked this very much, it was supremely informative. His fictional accounts of historical occurances and time periods give me more insight into the circumstances than years of history courses ever did.

I have to admit that I liked The Diamond Age better, maybe I am just a sucker for overtly futuristic themes.

A story about "Stardust" — 6 years ago

Thank you Johnny (: This is a lovely book and I could re-read anything of Gaiman’s with no qualms whatsoever.

Sort of cycling re-reads of this in between times when I have no new books.

A story about "Contempt (New York Review Books Classics)" — 6 years ago

Amazing, especially for someone with that kind of OCD “what am I doing wrong, I must be doing something wrong, tell me what’s wrong” perseveration that is an obvious self-fulfilling prophecy etc… the entire novel is filled with a constant nervousness, reading it is almost like a twitch. You are wrapped up in the defeat of the main character without becoming sympathetic. Fascinating and cleverly written but a fast read as well. Recommended.

A story about "I & Claudius: Travels With My Cat" — 5 years ago

Christmas present from Lucy (: This gal sort of reminds me of a British Sex and the City meets Sheryl Crowe. It’s a good yarn!
