Heh! I adored this book, even if only for the irreverent, every-day-blundering humor and the poking fun at our shortcomings, while still reminding us of our potential as writers and the ways in which we can kick start our commercial careers.

Most of the book is comprised of ‘organized common sense’, but I didn’t feel it wasted my time – rather, it just confirmed and reinforced many of the things I’d learned in pieces from other places and people along the way.

My first exposure to Natalie Goldberg, and one of my favorite books to date. Natalie reminds us to tame and quiet what the zen community calls “Monkey Mind”. This is a great book not only for writers, but for anyone looking to sit up and focus and push past the self-editor that prevents us from being who we truly are. On paper, or otherwise.

A great first book for aspiring writers, Natalie Goldberg does a great job of breaking down the process and presenting the craft to beginners.

Natalie uses this book to depart some from the craft of writing, and pay attention to the life journeys she spent getting there. A nice ‘backstage’ look into the life of another favorite author.

David Allen packs this book full of potential for getting our lives and inboxes in order. The odd thing – most of these are things we already know on some level, but he brings them out into the light and shows us why we should pay attention to them.

Absolutely fascinating. Colorful, frightening, surreal.

A favorite as a kid, it was just as fun to read again as an adult. Poignant and magical.

I read this back in high school and really ought to pick it up again given the state of our nation and our relationship with the world. Orwell paints a grim picture that provides an eery foreshadowing to current and potentially future times.

This was a breathtaking adventure story and one I hope every reader on earth will experience in their lifetime. The greek mythology is vivid and surreal, and the life, experiences and adventures of Odysseus suck you in, and you have to remind yourself continually (or do you?) that it’s fantasy fiction.
