WORTH CONSUMING!
This film is amazing! Beautifully shot, beautifully acted but deeply disturbing. The subject matter is horrific at times but the childlike innocent tone is spot on, which keeps the nasty stuff in context and prevents it from being gratuitous. Think big fish meets alice in wonderland meets psycho.

This made me smile. In Japan thunder is believed to be caused by the god Raiden who enjoys eating human navels, thus when it thunders small children put their hands over their bellybuttons! Only a couple o chapters in, but really enjoying this.

A solid 7 out of ten. Not a lot of substance or surprises but looks beautiful, and well acted. Ed Norton & Paul Giamatti are usually good benchmarks of quality.
