Someplace to Be Flying (Newford)

It took me a while to warm up to the story, the background.
The book takes it time, explores, wanders issues like appreciation of arts, impact of our past and circumstance on who we are, on relationships, awareness and so on.
The premise seems too far removed even from the myths. It picks up somewhere around the middle and then became very engaging.
Not as entertaining as a Gaiman book or story, but more width.

Refactoring: Improving the Design of Existing Code

One of the few recent technical books that I recently read cover to cover.
It covers Refactoring as a way to improve code and learn OO Programming, the center piece is the refactoring catalog. Most of it is fairly easy reading as far as technical books go, focus more on Java and the contrast between pre and post refactor highlights the advantages of Object Oriented Programming.

Shirley MacLaine’s autobiography during her spiritual quest. Found it to be borderline interesting. The love relationship exploration bored me as it is not what I am into, the spiritual part was borderline interesting. Covered channeled spirits, Peru, Reincarnation, UFOs and aligning career and spiritual quest.
