A story about "12 Monkeys (Special Edition)" — 4 years ago
fun movie, well thought out and put together, and directed well by Terry Gilliam. If you do not know who that is then shame on you.

I am a diehard debian veteran and as such I haven’t been playing with other distro’s much. This changed when I finally started to build my own PVR; fedora core is aimed squarely towards bleeding edge linux fun. And it scores. The installer ‘just works’ (tm) and looks slick as hell, the KDE desktop is well-integrated, and it’s stable as all that. Great distro.
This was fun. All of the young dutch girls went to see ‘40 yr old virgin’ or somesuch crap romantic movie so I had the theatre almost to myself. And it was brilliant. You can see that the budget has increased exponentially over the years and it shows in the details but the animation is still lovingly hand-crafted and the little injokes are all around. I had a great time watching this.
tripe. Well-rendered, flawlessly executed tripe. This movie clings together by its pop culture references and bored me to tears.
Thank god I’m a geek so I will always enjoy well-rendered CGI movies but again; totally uninspired movie.
Watch. This. Movie.
I am not easily put on the wrong foot by a movie, and even then not for very long but this one managed to keep me in the dark for a while.
Great plot, excellent execution. And Edward Norton.
great book, and it teaches you all about turing machines without you realising it. In that way, it is a double primer. A lot of nano-tech stuff is thrown in for added fun.
It’s often said that Neal can’t write proper endings, and I have to agree to an extend. The ending seems a bit forced. But still, a very enjoyable book, the parallel with Neuromancer is often drawn; which seems fair. But Neuromancer was heralding in a new era; and this had less of an impact. But go on, read it!
Other work by Isao Takahata is much lighter but still extremely good.
