A classic of the genre with absolutely zero redeeming features— which is rather the point. The original eats the remake for breakfast. After doing sick, unspeakable things to it first.

Plot holes abound and ending is ridiculous, but Fincher delivers solid atmosphere and Douglas delivers solid performance— enough so to keep you watching.

Weak and underdeveloped— a very clear case of too much novel, not enough movie.

On the up side, I could listen to Colin Farrell talk pretty much forever.

The effects in this movie are amazing and beautiful and unmatched not only in their time but by many, many of today’s films.
