WORTH CONSUMING!

The last of the series and things get harder for our heroes. This was an enjoyable series even if things sometimes are incredibly bleak sometimes for the heroes.

WORTH CONSUMING!

A group of women come together to talk about books and in the meantime find out about live and love, living through children, grandchildren, marriages, love, lust, divorce, childbirth and abortion. The dialogue about the books reflects real bookclub debates. Enjoyable.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Interesting and a good read once you get past the first about 100 pages.
It’s pretty much an Alien living hidden in human society story. R’shiel is different, feels different, her mother is a political animal who won’t let anything, even her children stand in the way of her ambitions. Her son, Tarja, is a captain on the front-lines, protecting the Sisterhood’s society from the god worshipers. The gods have plans tho and they involve both of these people, who turn out not to really be brother and sister. Yeah kinda spoilerish but it’s pretty telegraphed from the start.

Obvious first novel, screamingly obvious, and possibly a good editor would have tightened the first few chapters up to make it flow smoother and got the punters into the story quicker. Also the relationship developing into love between Tarja and R’Shiel, WTF? I have a foster sister, now granted she is my cousin but NEITHER of my brothers would even think of someone brought up from early on as ANYTHING other than a sister. Shame on the Goddess of Love for that squick.

NOT WORTH CONSUMING

I really didn’t like this one, the author kept pouring on more nasty and then one of the two focal characters went and fell in love with her UNCLE, and kept going with the relationship, cause it was Truu luvv

A review of "Murkmere" — 3 years ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

In a world where birds are worshiped and feared, stories of Avia, half-human half-bird people are considered wrong and blasphemous. When Aggie is brought into Murkmere to be the companion of Leah all that she considers normal is put on it’s head. Interesting but lacks something. The ending felt very rushed.

WORTH CONSUMING!

an interesting story about a girl born to help her sister survive who eventually starts asking why she has to continue giving and how much more of her life she has to sacrafice for her sister to live. I liked the various characters and felt myself caring a lot. The end I felt was a bit of a letdown.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This was a fun read. Both characters Adam Hardesty and Caroline Fordyce I cared for. The twists and turns were good and I liked some of the resolution for what happened to the characters. Secrets and lies confuse and complicate matters. The dialogue and attitudes come across as fairly accurate.

Caroline writes popular serialised fiction and while researching seances stumbles into Adams’ mysteries while the bodies of mediums gather.

WORTH CONSUMING!

As the second, disregarded son with a dead wife, no prospects and a daughter, Udo has to survive, and this survival leads him to becoming the food taster for the cruel Duke Federico, who fancies his daughter.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Interesting addition to the vampire myth. Dracula myths are capturing three generations of historians but people keep dying or appearing with strange wounds.
