Her best so far... — 43 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’ve read 2 other books by Emily Giffin, and they were entertaining enough but nothing too special. But I have to say she has outdone herself this time. This is by far her best of the 3. Babyproof and Something Blue were the other 2 I read. So I will definitely be reading her next book. I like when an author’s writing gets better with every book. So many of them don’t…

A story about "Stuart Little Book and Charm (Charming Classics)" — 43 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I bought this book for my 6 yr old daughter for Christmas. She loves mice and stories about them so I knew she would love it, and the charm necklace just sealed the deal. She loved the book and insisted that I read it when she was done. It was a very cute, well-written story, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Stephen King--get outta of the way because here comes Stephenie — 45 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I’m not a big sci-fi fan, but when it’s done right I enjoy it. And The Host is very well done. It does take a couple of pages to get settled in to the story, but once I did, I loved it. It reminded me a lot of Stephen King’s The Stand. The main difference was there was no bad language and other strange perversions. It was very interesting and clean cut. This is Meyer’s first adult book, and it does not disappoint. With the Twilight series, she showed that she can write a great love story and make vampires likeable. With The Host, she shows that she can do much more than just that. Whether you’ve read Twilight or not, you should give this book a try.

I don't know why... — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

but I love these books! It’s a little embarrassing because I’m almost 36 years old. My sister that teaches middle school told me all of the kids are reading them. LOL I think Stephanie Meyer does a good job of creating a female protagonist that is someone easy to relate to. She thinks that she is just a normal, awkward person that no one else would be remotely interested in. So when she does have interest shown, she is so surprised and so ready to believe that it won’t last. My heart went out to her and what she dealt with in this 2nd book of the Twilight series. Most of the time when I start reading a book that starts a sequel by the time I finish it I don’t care to read the next book for awhile. But I was chomping at the bit to get to this one, and I’ve got 2 more to read now! But I do have to read some other books before I get to Eclipse. So, give it a try, but you must read Twilight first.

Why I recommend "A Champion's Mind: Lessons from a Life in Tennis" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

If you are a tennis fan, then this book is a must for you. I’ve never been much of a Pete Sampras fan. Something about someone so consistently good just makes me less likely to cheer for them, but he does an excellent job of explaining how he was so dominant. I’ve always rooted more for guys like Andre Agassi who had an up and down career but was a great player. This book made Pete Sampras seem more human and likeable even though most of it doesn’t delve much into his life outside of tennis. But it definitely upholds the idea that nice guys can finish first.

Started out good but got a bit unbelievable by the end... — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I really enjoyed this book at first. Jodi Picoult’s later books seem to be very thought provoking. But I won’t spoil the book for anyone, but I felt the way it ended was a bit on the unbelievable side. Still worth the read though!

Why I recommend "Rules for Saying Goodbye: A Novel" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This book is like a friend or family member that you love that does things that you drive you crazy. It is an entertaining book, but sometimes I got irritated at the characters. But then something really funny or touching would happen, and I would “love” them again. So by the end of the book, I felt it was worth the time, and I felt a connection to the characters.

Worth muddling through the middle — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I thought the first part of the book was interesting, but the middle lagged quite a bit. I even considered giving up, but I’m so glad I didn’t because the last part of the book tied everything together. This is a very good book about families and writers.

A review of "Heroes, Volume One" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I thought this was a really good first season. I liked the way all of the characters just seemed like ordinary people instead of super stars even though they had super powers. I thought it was very interesting the way the season ended and how so many things were tied together. I highly recommend it.

Why I recommend "High School Musical" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I was really impressed with how clean cut and sweet and innocent this movie was. My 5 yr old wanted to watch it, and my husband and I watched it when she was asleep to see if it would be okay for her to watch. And I was pleasantly surprised because I had sat through 30 minutes of Cheetah Girls awhile back, and it was an awful movie and totally inappropriate for a 5 yr old to watch. But this movie was fun to watch and is something the whole family can watch together. I really appreciate the fact this movie contained no innuendos or bad language. Why can’t there be more movies out there like this one for young children?
