A story about "Dogma (Special Edition)" — 1 year ago

I was just reading the liner notes from my new Special Edition of Dogma, and the last paragraph warrants repeating:

“I was trying to spread the Word of God. Granted, I was using a shitload of dick and fart jokes to do it, but since the lord has a sense of humor, I always rationalized that, ultimately, He (or She) appriciated it – regardless of what a select few of His (or Her) yapping minions maintained. At least, fuck – I hope God’s got a sense of humor. If not, I’m really, really screwed.”

A story about "15" — 1 year ago

A dear friend at work brought me the CD - still with a little bit of plastic on it! He knew that I wanted to hear the whole thing, so now I can!

I’m very much enjoying this whole album.

I know a few people who would hate it though! laugh

WORTH CONSUMING!

It was on ABC tonight, and I was reminded of how great this movie really is. I want to see the second one.

Wishy-washy — 1 year ago

I really enjoy the concept of time-travel, no matter what the vessel is. I enjoy the paradoxes that come from someone knowing the future, or trying to change the past. The more complex the scenerio, the more I tend to enjoy the book or movie.

Although I generally liked this film, I was rather frustrated by the ending. I was expecting a “life goes on,” “some things are unchangable,” kind of ending – but they went the happy, sappy route. I’m not meaning to be cynical, I just happen to be of the persuasion that I would rather see a movie that keeps me thinking well beyond the exit of the theater, than be patted on the head and told that I’m a good girl.

However, if you are the kind of person who only likes movies with happy endings, this one will not disapoint you.

Why I recommend "Minority Report (Widescreen Two-Disc Special Edition)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I love the concept that knowing the future often leads to that future itself. I have a big problem when characters learn of the future, then try to change it. How can it be the future if it doesn’t happen?

That reminds me, I need to go mark Butterfly Effect…

Why I recommend "Back to the Future - The Complete Trilogy (Widescreen Edition)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

Some of the lines from the first movie have already gone down in classic history!

“Both you and Jennifer turn out fine! It’s your Kids, Marty! Something’s gotta be done about your kids!”

I have to admit, I was a little dissapointed with the second and third films after the first one – but I still love them all dearly.

WORTH CONSUMING!

When I was a kid I was scared of the scene where the trashcans attack, but I LOVE the end when the witch gets flushed down her giant toilet throne!

I love the music in it – it’s so cheezy – and yet I still find myself singing some of the songs from time to time…

“Don’t nobody bring me NO bad news!”
