A story about "mochi" — 2 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I have no idea how to make this, so it’s one of those tasty ice cream treats you get at Japanese restaurants, but I do know that when you buy the packaged “bricks” it doesn’t seem like it’ll melt down, but they do and it’s gross when baked in the oven. I’ve considered the mochi waffle, but I think I’ll try boiling them next time.

WORTH CONSUMING!

The non-gravy kind or an Italian pot roast is gluten free.

A story about "Soba noodles" — 6 weeks ago

Authentic soba noodles are gluten free, but as far as I know a majority of the mass produced ones are not.

"The delusion will leave when it's not needed anymore" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is such a cute movie! Many people may laugh about the movie being about a guy who falls in love with a sex doll, but not only is it the most g-rated movie for it’s premise, but it’s so much more than that. The way that the people treat and react to Lars throughout the movie makes me hope and wish that if I were ever to fall in love with a mannequin or sex doll that people would treat me as such. Not that I plan to or anything.

The movie really makes you think about how common and lighthearted we as humans assign our own projected traits/animistic symbols to immaterial objects. Possibly for others as well, but for me I kept referencing back to childhood during playtime with dolls or other children. I knew it wasn’t real, but I still felt compelled to act stories out until the day arrived when I didn’t feel the need to anymore.

This movie is poignant yet leaves you warm fuzzied like a feel good movie would.

A story about "D.E.B.S. (Special Edition)" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie resembles stereotypical lesbian movie themes (awakening to one’s sexuality, forbidden love by an institution, good cop/criminal), but is so corny it makes fun of them too. I love it!

A story about "Secretary" — 2 years ago

I didn’t find this movie to be funny, though I did gain a better understanding of S&M, the plot held me and I didn’t think it would end nice, but it did. I’m undecided on this movie. It was a good twist to the love story and I didn’t hate it, but I don’t think I would recommend it to others. It was just weird which you’d think would be right up my ally, but yeah it just sorta bothered me in places.

WORTH CONSUMING!

I used to have this album and then it left me somehow (yeah I dunno) I totally forgot I even had it until I heard it again. Yaaay, I’m glad Eels are back in my head again!

A story about "Casino Royale" — 2 years ago

I’ve seen most, if not all, James Bond movies and I think this is my favorite.

In the past, a few scenes from James Bond movies were so sexist that I talked through out the film pointing them out. This was usually from the films during the 60’s- when Sean Connery was Bond. Through the years they’ve made James Bond more with the times and more human. No more slapping your bitch to then screw her after. No more forced attempts on women. Now James Bond is still a cool, off-putting, badass, but a cool, off-putting badass-with feelings. Though this new venture into emotions seems to leave the humor of the James Bonds in the past. Actors who portrayed Bonds in the past may have portrayed James Bond as an arrogant macho ass, but also were hilarious and made some really good funny innuendo lines that James Bond movies are famous for. Recent Bond movies still attempt to keep with tradition, but seem to lack a certain pizazz.

Casino Royale was the first James Bond book that Ian Fleming wrote. This movie is supposed to portray why James Bond is the way he is-the start of it all. This is why the new James Bond movie does not follow the usual formula at all. There’s no gadgets, no Q, no MoneyPenny, and no bad girl.

Daniel Craig as James Bond. Yeah, yeah..here’s the part where I’m gonna go: niiiiice ass. There’s some other good shots of Craig’s body too. Rowr.ooo. Anyway Craig’s face was a good fit for badass potential and he played the cool-ness well. Even though there’s some scenes that provoke a chuckle or two-nothing really funny. However there is an enjoyable scene of flirty banter between Vesper Lynd (Eva Green as the bond girl) and James Bond when they first meet.
Also in recent times they’ve made Bond Girls more feisty, witty and independent. A girl who isn’t going to put up with James’s seduction of her, at first anyway. They followed this as well, but not as much in the past few ones with Pierce Brosnan.

There’s still a romance and the usual chase scene/violence/blood, but this movie had a good plot twist and portrayed the characters in a different way than in any other Bond film.

A story about "May" — 3 years ago

Outkast from childhood May goes on a killing spree when no one will love her. Angela Bettis caught the awkwardness and pain of the main character very well. She is a fantastic actress that should get way bigger roles. I root for the underdog by default. This feels weird when the protagonist is the underdog and is totally messed in the head. The only thing I didn’t like about this movie is the whole shy people=murderers thing.
