"The delusion will leave when it's not needed anymore" — 9 weeks ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

This is such a cute movie! Many people may laugh about the movie being about a guy who falls in love with a sex doll, but not only is it the most g-rated movie for it’s premise, but it’s so much more than that. The way that the people treat and react to Lars throughout the movie makes me hope and wish that if I were ever to fall in love with a mannequin or sex doll that people would treat me as such. Not that I plan to or anything.

The movie really makes you think about how common and lighthearted we as humans assign our own projected traits/animistic symbols to immaterial objects. Possibly for others as well, but for me I kept referencing back to childhood during playtime with dolls or other children. I knew it wasn’t real, but I still felt compelled to act stories out until the day arrived when I didn’t feel the need to anymore.

This movie is poignant yet leaves you warm fuzzied like a feel good movie would.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Out of all the love stories out there that try to portray love, I think that the love between Robert and Lola is the most genuine. THAT’S love, man, right there!

A story about "looney tunes" — 27 weeks ago

I remember some scenes where daffy duck was somehow secretly coerced into an oven or a pot of water on a stove that was a “bath” and then Daffy not knowing what was going on and wondering why it was so hot all of a sudden. It majorly freaked me out whenever Elmer Fudd wanted to eat bugs bunny, daffy duck or porky pig, yet I always really wanted Wile E Coyote to catch the road runner.

WORTH CONSUMING!

This movie resembles stereotypical lesbian movie themes (awakening to one’s sexuality, forbidden love by an institution, good cop/criminal), but is so corny it makes fun of them too. I love it!

Maybe this particular type British humor just wasn’t my thing, but Eddie Izzard only elicits a few smirks of amusement from me. His subjects are interesting and intelligent, but I find his speech pattern to be incoherent due to a lack of organization to his topics. There’s not much flow there and I think he needs transition sentences.

A story about "Favorite Brand Name Classic Mexican Recipes" — 47 weeks ago

Despite the consumerism, this cookbook has a great recipe for horchata and flan.

A story about "Secretary" — 49 weeks ago

I didn’t find this movie to be funny, though I did gain a better understanding of S&M, the plot held me and I didn’t think it would end nice, but it did. I’m undecided on this movie. It was a good twist to the love story and I didn’t hate it, but I don’t think I would recommend it to others. It was just weird which you’d think would be right up my ally, but yeah it just sorta bothered me in places.

I liked reading about Brandon’s story and she has some cool insights as well.

A question I have about "S'mores" — 1 year ago

I’ve never actually had these. Soo, you just put chocolate and marshmellows in between two graham crackers and toast them? Any preffered toasting methods?

A story about "Tequila - Sol Dios 100% Puro De Agave" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

“100% Blue Agave Tequila must be made from the Weber Blue Agave plant, to rigorous specifications and only in certain Mexican states.”-wikipedia

I was at a friend’s house talking outside with her on her patio when her hispanic neighbor popped his head over the fence to say hello. He had just arrived here from Mexico and had a homemade flask of this stuff. He explained what it was and asked if we wanted to try some. I shrugged my shoulders and knocked back a couple good-sized sips. I wouldn’t of drank any if it wasn’t tasty and it was-I mostly tasted agave juice. No tequila has ever been the same for me since.
