A story about "danny Wallace and the centre of the universe" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I have enjoyed Danny Wallace in the past, so I was delighted to hear about this book. It didn’t hurt that I’d been in Wallace just a couple of months before and had a chance to see the center of the universe. I was also very excited to see that Greg got so much book space, as he is the person I talked to most while I was there. I’ve now met a person in a book! And I met them before I knew of the book. It’s very exciting for me in a nerdly way :)
Oh, and the book was very, very funny!

Who can I recommend this to? — 1 year ago

While I really enjoyed this book, I don’t think I could really recommend it to a kid without first knowing them and their parents rather well. The whole thing was really exciting, but the content is so very icky and disturbing. I like a good disturbing tale, but I know that it will be too much for quite a few readers. Maybe I should reread some Roald Dahl and see how it compares. I’ll probably steer more YAs toward this one.

WORTH CONSUMING!

Something about these illustrations are soooo comforting to me. They remind me of Victoria Plum somehow.

Why I recommend "Dusssie" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

What DO you do when you wake up one morning and all of your hair has turned into snakes? I just loved the premise of this book and found that it was a great story about being true to yourself and being strong enough to accept your differences..

A story about "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian" — 1 year ago

WORTH CONSUMING!

I work in a library, so I check out all the books I read. I got about halfway through this book and decided I just had to own a copy. It’s heartbreaking and hilarious and absolutely wonderful.

hmmmm.... — 1 year ago

I had kind of a hard time getting into this one, but once i started i absolutely had to keep going. I had a hard time with the way the narrator kept jumping out of the story. Maybe it was my mood (I like the Snicket books), but I found it to be more tiresome than cute.
